From 9 to 11 July 2026, Prof. Anatoliy Sachenko, Director of the Research Institute for Intelligent Computer Systems, visited Bratislava, Slovak Republic, at the invitation of Comenius University Bratislava. During the visit, he held a series of working meetings with representatives of the Faculty of Management and the SPECTRA Centre of Excellence, including Iveta Husárová, Nataliia Yehorchenkova, Matej Jaššo, and Oleksii Yehorchenkov. Prof. Sachenko also met with PhD students, including Oleksii Ilchenko from Ukraine.

The main purpose of the visit was to assess the organisational and infrastructural capacity of Slovakia’s largest university to host the 15th IEEE International Conference on Intelligent Data Acquisition and Advanced Computing Systems — IDAACS 2029 — in Bratislava.

During a several of working meetings, Prof. Sachenko introduced his Slovak colleagues to the concept, structure, and organisational features of the IDAACS conference and invited them to attend the 14th IEEE International Conference on Intelligent Data Acquisition and Advanced Computing Systems, IDAACS 2027, which will take place in Athens, Greece, from 22 to 25 September 2027.

He also presented the procedure for preparing and submitting an application to host the conference in 2029 — the IDAACS 2029 BID. Prof. Sachenko emphasized that preference is given to applicant universities that provide grant-based support for using their lecture halls and rooms for the conference.

The parties exchanged experience in implementing international projects within European programmes and organising international conferences. Particular attention was devoted to logistics, technical support, and the organisation of activities for participants of the prospective conference.

During the visit, Prof. Sachenko and his Slovak colleagues conducted a detailed inspection of the Faculty of Management’s lecture halls, which could potentially be used for regular and special sessions of IDAACS 2029, plenary sessions, and meetings of the International Advisory Board. In addition, the Slovak colleagues showed Prof. Sachenko the main building of Comenius University, which is being considered as one of the possible venues for the conference opening ceremony.

Potential locations were also preliminarily identified for participant registration, the Welcome Party, coffee breaks, and lunches. The Faculty of Management is located in central Bratislava, close to an ice arena and a stadium, with a network of nearby hotels, as well as within convenient reach of the main railway station. This location would provide conference participants with suitable accommodation options and convenient transport connections.

The parties separately discussed the possible venues for the official conference dinner. One of the proposed options was the UFO restaurant, located at the top of a bridge pylon above the Danube River and offering panoramic views of Bratislava and the riverbanks.

Given that the new academic year at the university begins in the third week of September, the participants agreed that 12–15 September 2029 could be the most suitable dates for IDAACS 2029.

At the conclusion of the visit, Prof. Anatoliy Sachenko thanked his Slovak colleagues for their hospitality, constructive dialogue, and interest in hosting IDAACS 2029 in Bratislava. He also recommended beginning the preparation of a high-quality and comprehensive IDAACS 2029 BID application.
