On May 7–8, 2026, The Third International Conference of Young Scientists on Artificial Intelligence for Sustainable Development (AISD 2026) was held in Ternopil and Skomorokhy. The event was held in a hybrid format and brought together researchers, graduate students and young scientists working in the areas of artificial intelligence, intelligent systems, sustainable development, digital technologies and applied AI solutions.

Representatives of the Research Institute for Intelligent Computer Systems (ICS) participated in the conference. In particular, Maksym Palka, a graduate student of the Department of Information and Computing Systems and Management and a laboratory assistant at the ICS, presented a report entitled “Comparative Analysis of CNN Architectures for Detecting the Solar Panel Defect”. According to the conference program, the presentation took place on May 8 within Session 2.

Bogdan Derish and Lesya Dubchak also participated in the conference with a report “AI-Driven Multimodal Damage Detection and Localization in Wind Turbine Blades for Sustainable Infrastructure Monitoring”. In the AISD 2026 program, this report was presented on May 7 within Session 1.

The topics of the presented research cover current areas of application of artificial intelligence and computer vision for sustainable development tasks. Maksym Palka’s report was devoted to a comparative analysis of convolutional neural network architectures for automated defect detection of solar panels. The research of Bogdan Derish and Lesya Dubchak focused on the use of AI-driven multimodal approaches for damage detection and localization in wind turbine blades, which is important for monitoring sustainable infrastructure facilities.

The AISD 2026 program included presentations related to anomaly detection, intelligent decision support systems, computer vision, AI in education, cybersecurity, sustainable infrastructure, energy systems, and other areas of application of artificial intelligence. The participation of ICS representatives in the conference contributes to the presentation of the Institute’s research results in the international scientific community and the development of scientific areas related to artificial intelligence, deep learning, computer vision, and sustainable technologies.

We wish the participants further scientific successes, new research results, and fruitful implementation of future AI-oriented research!
