Despite the difficult situation in Ukraine, recently (from July 1 to 8), the WUNU team managed to participate in a number of events at the Dortmund University of Applied Sciences and Arts (FH-Dortmund, Germany). The delegation included: professor Anatoly Sachenko, associate professors Hryhoriy Gladiy, Pavlo Bykovy, Khrystyna Lipianina-Honcharenko, Svitlana Sachenko, graduate student Ivan Kit, students of specialty 122 “Computer Science” Alina Kozak, Anna Melnyk and Natalya Madarash. The trip was organized with the funds of the DAAD “Eastern Partnership”, Erasmus+ “Academic Mobility for Study” programs, as well as the international DAAD project “Virtual Master’s Interaction in Intelligent Data Processing” (ViMaCs) (https://vimacs.go-study-europe.de/).

During the specified period, our scientists and students took part in the following activities:
1). From July 1 to 2, participated in the thirteenth annual international scientific conference IRC 2022 (https://irc.go-study-europe.de/2022/), where 136 participants from 18 countries gathered to listen to presentations on current topics in in the field of digital transformation, education, employment, project management and sustainable development. Two reports from ZUNU were presented by Khrystyna Lipianina-Honcharenko and Ivan Kit. Participants also had the opportunity to attend master classes in 3D printing and laser cutting, mobile robotics, creative research and reporting on climate change projects. Also, as part of the DAAD “Eastern Partnership” program, Khrystyna Lipianina-Honcharenko and Ivan Kit received a grant for a one-month internship at FH-Dortmund to work on doctoral and candidate theses.


2). During the week, from July 4 to 8, students studied at the Summer School “Advanced Perspectives in Data Science” within the framework of the DAAD project ViMaCs (https://go-study-europe.de/dortmund-international-summer-school-is-successfully-over-this-year/), where in the morning they listened to lectures by teachers, associate professors and professors from Ukraine and Dortmund, and in the afternoon they worked in teams on research projects: “Automatic license plate recognition”, “Silhouette recognition of curfew violators”, “Classification of fruit images using neural networks” under the leadership of the representative of the IT company Blacktron.AI Oleksandr Hrubych.

3). From July 4 to 6, as part of the Erasmus+ project “Work4CE” (https://work4ce.eu/), the teaching staff had a training (Train-the-Trainer) on the topic “Problem- and Challenge-based Learning to Train Essential Skills within the Project Environment”, organized by the Institute for the Digital Transformation of Application and Living Domains.

4). On July 6, a working meeting of the participants of the Erasmus+ international project “Work4CE” from Germany, Ukraine, Spain, Lithuania, Kazakhstan, Belgium, Azerbaijan was held, where they summarized the interim results and discussed the problems of implementing the project in modern realities. This project is aimed at the need for competencies, standards, educational materials and didactic formats, which are important in the new Work4.0 environment in the era of the fourth industrial revolution.

5). On July 7, scientists from WUNU (Anatoliy Sachenko, Pavlo Bykovy, Svitlana Sachenko, Khrystyna Lipianina-Honcharenko) and Dortmund University of Applied Sciences and Arts (Carsten Wolff, Thorsten Ruben) discussed a number of issues related to the organization of the joint international IEEE conference IDAACS- 2023 (https://www.idaacs.net/) September 6-9, 2023 in Dortmund.

The participation of scientists and students of WUNU in the above-mentioned events was marked with appropriate certificates. In total, it was nine rich and interesting days of fruitful work and unforgettable impressions.
