In June 7, 2018, Victor Kremin, Alexander Karpin and Svyatoslav Paliy, representatives of the Lviv Branch of the elite IT company –Cypress Semiconductor Corporation, were present at the Ukrainian-German Education and Research Center and the Research Institute of Intelligent Computer Systems with a working visit to the Department for Information and Computer Systems and Control.
In June 7, 2018, Victor Kremin, Alexander Karpin and Svyatoslav Paliy, representatives of the Lviv Branch of the elite IT company –Cypress Semiconductor Corporation, were present at the Ukrainian-German Education and Research Center and the Research Institute of Intelligent Computer Systems with a working visit to the Department for Information and Computer Systems and Control. This corporation manufactures: NOR flash memories F-RAM and SRAM Traveo microcontrollers, and is the only PSoC programmable system-on-chip solutions, analog and PMIC Power Management ICs, CapSense capacitive touch-sensing controllers, Wireless BLE Bluetooth Low-Energy and USB connectivity solutions, including the IoT – Internet of Things. They were acquainted with the educational laboratories of Department for ICSC and the Ukrainian-German Education and Research Center, as well as with the computing cluster and the results of the sciences of the research projects of Research Institute of intelligent computer systems.
Victor Kremin and his colleagues presented an interesting report for staff and students on topic “Secure Fingerprint Sensing and Identification for IoT”, and also talked about the multifaceted possibilities of expanding cooperation. In particular, it was mentioned about the possibility of employment for students and post-graduate students, summer school for students, a scientific program for teachers, etc.
New equipment was transferred to the education laboratories of the department for ICSC and the technical advice on its setting was provided. A preliminary agreement was reached on the establishment of a Cypress education based on one of the ISCS laboratories. The department of the IOSU handed over the relevant instructions for laboratory works. Viktor Kremin’s membership in the state examination commission is scheduled for 2018-2019 academic year.
Also, were held negotiations with representatives of research teams of the Research Institute of Intelligent Computer Systems: Prof. V. Kochan, Prof. A. Sachenko, Prof. V. Yatskiv, Assistant Professor V. Koval, Assistant Professor M. Komar. It is planned to develop scientific cooperation, in particular joint writing of conferences publications and journal articles with the possibility of financing by Cypress, joint writing of patents, including American ones. It is agreed that Cypress will provide technical, possibly financial, support for IEEE IDAACS SWS 2018 on September 20-21, 2018 in Lviv.
This is the second visit by Cypress Semiconductor Corporation representative, their associate representative -prof. Andrej Rucinski was here a few years ago.
