The rector of the West Ukrainian National University, Oksana Desyatniuk, and the rector of the Silesian University of Technology, Marek Pawelczyk, signed an agreement on international cooperation.

This step was a continuation of the strategic course of the West Ukrainian National University to strengthen academic mobility, improve the quality of educational services, integrate into the European educational space, and develop science through international platforms.

The universities will develop mutually beneficial cooperation in areas of mutual interest in order to increase the efficiency and quality of research, teaching, innovation, and other activities, as well as promote the development of higher education and science, taking into account the achievements of leading domestic and world scientific schools.

The cooperation provides for the creation of research groups, the implementation of interdisciplinary projects in the field of engineering, IT, economics, ecology, sustainable development, and other relevant areas. The partnership will allow for the creation of joint bachelor’s, master’s and postgraduate programs, including double degrees, to exchange experience in the field of educational management and digitalization of the educational process. There will be a regular exchange of students, postgraduates, teachers and administrative staff for training, teaching, internships and advanced training. This will contribute to the development of the international environment of universities.

Higher education institutions will organize scientific events at the international level, encouraging the participation of young scientists, researchers and students. This will create a platform for the exchange of ideas, experience and scientific developments, writing joint publications in professional international journals, mutual review of scientific works, exchange of electronic databases, educational and methodological materials.

In the context of modern challenges, universities plan to develop digital educational platforms, study innovative solutions in the field of artificial intelligence, and also jointly prepare students for the challenges of the digital economy. Special attention will be paid to the development of student initiatives, participation in cultural, sports and artistic projects, which will contribute to mutual understanding and the formation of a global worldview.

The signing of this agreement is not only a new page in the history of WUNU, but also a real step towards the formation of a strong European academic community. Cooperation with leading Polish institutions is a guarantee of sustainable development and competitiveness of our youth.

Together to new horizons of science, innovation and international recognition!
