The 9th IEEE International Conference on Intelligent Data Acquisition and Advanced Computing Systems: Technology and Applications (IDAACS 2017) was held in University “Politehnica” of Bucharest (UPB), Romania from 20-th to 23-rd of September. The organizers of IDAACS 2017 were the Research Institute for Intelligent Computer Systems (ICS) of Ternopil National Economic University (TNEU) and Institute of Cybernetics named by V.M. Glushkov of the National Academy of Sciences, Ukraine represented by IDAACS 2017 Co-Chair Anatoliy Sachenko and Faculty of Automatic Control and Computer Science, UPB represented by  IDAACS 2017 Co-Chair  Grigore Stamatescu.

The Registration Desk started on Wednesday, late afternoon, September 20 with a followed Welcome Party. The official address was announced  by  Mihnea Costoiu, UPB Rector on Thursday, morning, September 21 with a followed keynote talk “Dependable Internet of Things» by Kay Uwe R?mer, Austria. One posters and nine oral sessions including the Peter Reusch Memorial Session were held on Thursday.  The day ended with a  city tour.

On Friday, morning, September 22 the keynote  Dan Cristea, Romania presented his  talk “My Geography Manual is Now Linked with the Web and the Real World”. One poster and 13 oral sessions were completed that day  including IEEE Romania YP meeting. The two International Advisory Board  (IAB) meetings were held discussing potential venues for a satellite symposium IDAACS SWS 2018 Symposium and IDAACS 2019 Conference. Besides, the working meting within the Erasmus+Aliot project [aliot.eu.org] was running by Vyacheslav Kharchenko, Ukraine with present members of the consortium. The day ended with a Conference Dinner at a nice restaurant with the folklore music. Co-funded by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union

On Saturday, September 23 one poster and seven oral sessions were completed, including the  Round Table and Closing Ceremony. Moreover, the working meeting was held of the PhD candidate Diana Zahorodnia with Co-Supervisors of her PhD thesis Victor Krylov, Ukraine and Uwe Grossman, Germany.

Authors from 35 countries submitted  348 papers  for reviewing by International Program Committee (IPC). As a result of the review, 213 papers were accepted and published in the Conference Proceedings  in two volumes (Voume 1, pp.1-572, Volume 2, pp. 573-1143). The Proceedings will be submitted to IEEE Xplore and indexed Scopus Elsevier correspondingly, and applied for indexing by Web of Science as well.

The TNEU academic staff was represented by Volodymyr Kochan, Anatoliy Sachenko, Pavlo Bykovyy, Svitlana Sachenko,  Oksana Chereshnuk, Oleksandr Osolinskyi, Taras Lendyuk, Diana Zahorodnia, Yurii Ivanyshak and Oksana Dunets  who presented their oral and poster papers.

On the Closing Ceremony, Linas Svilainis, Lithuania  the Chair of  Selection Committee, announced the best papers.  the three best oral papers of authors from Vietnam-Romania, Germany and France, and one the best poster paper of Ukrainian authors, were rewarded with the valuable books – monographs of River Publishers. The best paper in Project Management of Pakistan’s authors was awarded by a separate prize, a valuable book from River Publishers as a tribute to the memory of Peter Reusch.

In addition, the IPC Co-Chairs Dora Blanco Heras, Spain and John Kalomiros, Greece, as well as the Co-Chairs of the most effective Streams: Special Stream in Advanced Information Technologies in Environmental Sciences – Yury Kolokolov, Russian Federation and Kondo H Adjallah, France; Special Stream in Cyber Security – George Markowsky, USA and Igor Kotenko, Russian Federation were awarded by valuable books – monographs of River Publishers.

Finally George Markowsky, USA,  the  IAB  Chair, announced the IAB decision: the IEEE IDAACS SWS 2018 Symposium will be held in Lviv, Ukraine, Lviv National Polytechnic University in September 2018 and the IEEE IDAACS 2019 Conference – in Metz, France, University of Lorraine in September 2019. The Co-Chairs of IDAACS 2019 are Anatoliy Sachenko, Ukraine and Kondo H. Adjallah, France, and IPC Co-Chairs are Francesca Guerriero, Italy and Carsten Wolff, Germany.
